Do Your Work.
Do Your Work.
This seemingly simple phrase brings to mind two bigger ideas:
1) For starters it means DO your work. It’s up to you to put in the energy to reach your goals. Others might participate along with you, or help you, or guide you, or teach you. Your work starts with your willingness to do it.
2) It also means do YOUR work. We are so easily distracted and often discouraged by comparing ourselves to others. Whether you are a professional lawyer or an amateur musician, your work is equally meaningful. Your goals are your goals. Their goals are their goals.
You get to define what is fulfilling to you, and what unit you use to measure your success. Perhaps it’s money. Perhaps it’s impact. Perhaps it’s satisfaction in gracefully completing a task. Perhaps it’s sleeping easily. Perhaps it’s that space you feel between your shoulders and your ears when you take a deep breath and release it, knowing that every day you show up and put in the effort.
What are you working on?
